Fotona Lightwalker® machine

Fotona Lightwalker®

With the Fotona Lightwalker, we perform both hard- and soft-tissue treatments. It uses two laser wavelengths, reducing healing time, minimizing bleeding, and allowing less anesthesia. With this innovative dental laser, we can prepare cavities for fillings, shape your teeth, treat gum disease, and perform soft tissue surgeries. It’s an invaluable tool at Total Wellness Dental.

Intraoral Camera machine

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a small wand that magnifies hard-to-reach areas inside your mouth. It captures high-resolution images and displays them on a monitor, allowing us to show you numerous dental issues, such as cavities and early signs of gum disease. This important technology makes patient education easier by providing visual documentation; we use this information to help you improve your brushing and flossing technique and explain your treatment options.

Digital Impressions

Because we use an intraoral scanner to capture 3-D images of your teeth and gums, you don’t have to worry about uncomfortable, goopy impressions. It’s faster and more accurate than traditional dental putty, and we can review your impressions on the screen and make any adjustments right away. We use this technology for a variety of treatments, including cosmetic dentistry and orthodontic treatment. It’s just another way we strive to keep you comfortable.

patient getting nitrous oxide

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas,” is a colorless, odorless sedative we use to alleviate dental anxiety and keep you calm during treatment. We place a small mask over your nose, and the mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen immediately makes you feel relaxed and euphoric. It’s perfect for anyone with a strong gag reflex or for those who need lengthy treatment. Once we remove the mask, the effects wear off almost immediately, allowing you to return to your busy day.

Digital X-Rays and Sensors

Digital x-rays and sensors allow us to instantly capture images and transmit them to a computer screen, eliminating the need for traditional x-ray film. We use these digital images to create treatment plans and explain dental issues to our patients. The process is simple; we place a small, electronic sensor in your mouth, and it records your x-ray. Then we can adjust the image if needed, store it for future use, or share it with other medical professionals.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic X-Rays

We use panoramic x-rays to see your teeth, upper and lower jaws, and supporting bones in one image. This comprehensive view of your entire mouth allows us to detect dental issues and plan treatment for numerous procedures, including clear aligner therapy, extractions, and smile makeovers.

All you have to do is stand still while the x-ray machine rotates around your head; it’s a safe and effective way to help us see what a visual exam might miss.

Cephalometric X-rays

Cephalometric X-rays

With cephalometric x-rays, we can see your teeth, jawbones, and soft tissues in one full-profile image on the screen. These x-rays offer a full side view of your head and are invaluable for orthodontic treatment planning, helping us understand how your teeth and jaws work together. We can also use them to monitor your child’s facial development and predict future dental issues. We’re proud to offer this advanced technology in our dental office.

Digital Records

Digital records allow us to access your information from anywhere in our office and easily share it with other medical professionals. Instead of relying on paper charts, digital record-keeping makes it easier to create treatment plans and track all your data, including your medical history, x-rays, photos, and billing information. It’s a vital part of our process at Total Wellness Dental.

Noise-Canceling Headphones

Certain dental tools make loud sounds that some patients find unpleasant; that’s why we offer noise-canceling headphones to block those sounds, giving you a more relaxing experience. When you’re wearing our noise-canceling headphones, you can relax, listen to your favorite music, and forget what’s happening around you. This is just one of the ways we help you stay calm and comfortable during treatment.
