Dr. Hieu Do, DDS, D.ABDSM

Dentist

Dr. Hieu Do is the proud owner of Total Wellness Dental. A compassionate leader and lifelong learner, Dr. Do believes in empowering both her team and her patients to reach their fullest potential, personally, professionally, and in their oral health. Her leadership philosophy centers on leading by example and fostering an environment of growth, trust, and positivity.

Dr. Do attended the University of Texas School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2014, following her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Wharton County Junior College in 2007. Her journey in dentistry began humbly in 2005 when she entered dental hygiene school at just 19 years old. Working her way up from dental hygienist to dentist, Dr. Do’s career has been defined by perseverance, mentorship, and passion.

She credits much of her inspiration to Dr. Paul Setzler, a mentor who demonstrated that dentistry could be both an art and a deeply fulfilling career rooted in balance and genuine relationships. In 2017, Dr. Do acquired Total Wellness Dental, where she has built a practice that feels more like family, watching patients grow through every stage of life and helping them achieve optimal wellness beyond just their smiles.

Outside the office, Dr. Do enjoys walking outdoors, practicing Pilates and yoga, and finding calm through movement. She’s also an avid cook and baker, often preparing pho, steaks, and spring rolls for loved ones. Baking, in particular, is where her artistry shines; she delights in crafting birthday cakes with her children, turning each creation into a family memory.

When not creating smiles or culinary masterpieces, Dr. Do loves being near water, finding peace and inspiration in its calm, restorative energy.

Maria

Front Office Coordinator

Maria has been a valued member of the Total Wellness Dental team since February 2020, bringing with her a passion for organization, efficiency, and compassionate care. With training from Mayde Creek High School and the Texas School of Business, Maria began her career in the dental field in 2005 and has since become an expert in ensuring dental offices run seamlessly.

As the front office coordinator, Maria plays a key role in supporting both patients and the dental team. She manages scheduling, insurance verification, billing, collections, and reporting, all while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Her attention to detail and warm demeanor help create a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel valued and well cared for from the moment they arrive.

Maria’s favorite part of her work is seeing patients fall in love with their smiles again and being part of a team that delivers honest, high-quality care. Outside of the office, she enjoys reading and listening to the Bible, journaling, working out, and planning her days with care and intention.

Maria shares both a birthday and an uncanny resemblance with her daughter; they look alike, act alike, and celebrate life side by side each year.

Margarita

Registered Dental Hygienist

Margarita joined Total Wellness Dental in 2025, bringing over a decade of experience in the dental field as both a registered dental assistant and, more recently, a registered dental hygienist. She earned her dental hygiene education and training from Pima Medical Institute, where she developed a strong foundation in preventive and periodontal care.

In her role, Margarita provides comprehensive preventive dental care, including periodontal therapy, radiographs, sealants, fluoride treatments, nutritional counseling, and oral health education. She is known for her calm, reassuring presence and her ability to help even the most anxious patients feel comfortable and cared for. Her goal is to support every patient in feeling heard, respected, and empowered to maintain lifelong oral and systemic health.

Margarita’s favorite part of her work is watching her patients’ confidence grow as their oral health improves and building genuine relationships with them over time. Her dedication to patient-centered care and her ability to keep the team organized and centered make her an invaluable part of our office.

Outside of dentistry, Margarita enjoys cooking nutrient-focused meals, reading, watching movies, and exploring new restaurants. She also loves learning new things and often takes night classes in creative skills such as crocheting, drawing, and sewing. A passionate volunteer, she regularly participates in the Give Kids A Smile event, providing free dental care to children, an experience she calls one of her favorite days of the year.

Kimberly

Registered Dental Assistant

Kimberly joined Total Wellness Dental in August 2023, bringing dedication, precision, and a true passion for hands-on care to her role as the office’s only dental assistant. A graduate of the National School of Dental Assisting in Houston, Kimberly earned her Certificate of Completion in Dental Assisting in January 2016 and has been practicing since August of that year.

In her role, Kimberly ensures the doctor is supported and productive by preparing operatories, assisting with procedures, taking x-rays, and helping patients feel comfortable and informed. She takes pride in providing clear post-operative instructions and educating patients on their oral health. Kimberly especially values working with a team that shares her strong ethics and commitment to gentle, high-quality care.

Though she once dreamed of becoming a baker and sculpting with fondant, Kimberly found her artistic eye and steady hands perfectly suited to dentistry, especially when crafting beautiful temporaries and assisting with Bioclear restorations.

Outside the office, Kimberly channels her creativity as a florist, specializing in vibrant Mexican-style “ramo buchones” arrangements featuring 50+ roses. She also enjoys powerlifting and recently began running; no small feat for someone whose personal lifting total reaches an impressive 815 pounds.
