What to Expect When You Visit Us
Choosing a new dentist is a big decision, and we're honored you're considering Total Wellness Dental. Dr. Hieu Do and our team want your first visit to feel relaxed, unhurried, and informative, so you leave knowing exactly where your oral health stands and what comes next.
At our Houston dental office, we look at more than your teeth. Your mouth is connected to the rest of your body, so Dr. Do takes time to understand your overall health, your goals, and any concerns you bring with you. Here's what you can expect, from booking your appointment to reviewing your treatment options.
New Patient Special: $150 Comprehensive Assessment (Save $205)
New patients can get our 90-minute comprehensive assessment for just $150, a $355 value. It's a complete, in-depth evaluation of your gum health, cavities, airway, bite, and the esthetics of your smile. Plus, you'll receive a free Oral-B electric toothbrush after completing your first teeth cleaning with us. This offer cannot be combined with insurance or our membership plan. Dr. Hieu Do: Unhurried, Whole-Body Dental Care
When you meet Dr. Do at your first visit, you'll quickly see that she's willing to spend time getting to know you and answering all your questions. She began her career as a dental hygienist before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry, and she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
As a biological dental practice, we consider how your oral health affects the rest of your body and favor conservative, biocompatible care whenever possible. Learn more about Dr. Do.
Before Your Visit
Scheduling: You can book your first visit online anytime or call our team at (281) 463-7258. We're open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and our team speaks English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
What to bring:
- A photo ID
- Your dental insurance card, if you have one
- A list of your current medications and supplements
- Any recent dental X-rays or records from your previous dentist
- Questions or concerns you'd like to discuss with Dr. Do

What Happens at Your 90-Minute Comprehensive Assessment
Your first appointment is a 90-minute comprehensive assessment, so there's plenty of time for questions. Here's how it unfolds:
- A warm welcome. Our office is in Bear Creek Village with plenty of parking right outside the door. Our team will check you in and help you get settled.
- Getting to know you. Dr. Do will talk with you about your dental history, overall health, and goals. It's a great time to mention anything on your mind, from tooth sensitivity to snoring to questions about old metal fillings.
- X-rays and an in-depth evaluation. We take the X-rays needed to see what's happening below the surface. Then Dr. Do evaluates five key areas:
- Gum health: healthy gums support a healthier you
- Cavities: detecting decay early, while it's easier to treat
- Airway: how you breathe, for better sleep and overall health
- Your bite: proper function and balance of your teeth and jaws
- Smile esthetics: how your smile looks and what you'd like to change
- Your cleaning. If you need a routine cleaning, we can often take care of it at the same appointment as your exam. If Dr. Do finds you need more involved gum therapy, we'll schedule that cleaning as a separate visit so we can give your gums the care they need.
- Your results and next steps. Dr. Do will walk you through what she found, answer your questions, and explain your options. If treatment is recommended, our team will go over costs and payment options with you, so there are no surprises.
If you have mercury fillings, ask us about SMART, our safe amalgam removal protocol. If Dr. Do finds signs of an airway issue, she can also talk with you about sleep apnea and snoring treatment.
Your Comfort Comes First
If you feel nervous about seeing the dentist, you're not alone. From cozy blankets and neck pillows to noise-canceling headphones, we do the little things that help you relax. For patients with dental anxiety, we also offer nitrous oxide sedation to help you feel calm. Just let us know how you're feeling, and we'll go at your pace.
Insurance and Payment Options
We are out-of-network with all insurance companies, which lets Dr. Do recommend care based on what's best for you rather than on an insurance company's limits. You can still use your PPO benefits with us, and our team will help you understand your financial responsibility before treatment.
We also accept cash and most major credit cards, and we offer financing through CareCredit and Cherry. No dental insurance? Our in-house membership plan covers two exams and cleanings, any necessary X-rays, and 10% off other treatment. See our Financial Info page for details.
Finding Our Houston Office
You'll find us at 16125 Cairnway Dr., Suite 102, Houston, TX 77084, in the Bear Creek Village area just off Highway 6, about a block from the post office. There's plenty of parking right outside the door.

Are you accepting new patients?
Yes! We're currently welcoming new patients of all ages. If you're looking for one dental home for your whole family, from a child's first tooth to tooth replacement for grandparents, we'd love to meet you.
Do you take my insurance?
We're out-of-network with all insurance companies, but you can still use your PPO benefits at our office. Our team will do our best to explain your financial responsibility based on the information we receive from your insurance policy. Uninsured patients can join our in-house membership plan. Please note that our $150 New Patient Special cannot be combined with insurance or the membership plan.
What if I'm nervous about the dentist?
Let us know when you book. We'll take things slowly, explain each step, and offer comfort amenities like blankets, neck pillows, and noise-canceling headphones, plus nitrous oxide sedation to help you relax.
